This Journal is semi-friends only.

There are some posts in this journal marked specifically as "Friends Only". Such posts are made for the purpose of privacy (well, duh) - not everything needs to be public domain. You will not be able to see such posts unless you are in my friends list. I do watch my friends lists from time to time, and update and respond to some journals as I feel the need to do so.

Common journal interests/topics:
Arts, musics, computers (anything from Linux, Windows, OSX related - to misc. gadgets), life (real life, personal). Also contains random fun bits here and there.

This journal does not use filters. NSFW, TMI, or just overly long posts will be cut down to size, with a description of what's behind the cut.

This entry will remain at the top of my main journal - and may be revised from time to time.

This journal is not intended as a vent. While I do rant and rave from time to time - it's fairly drama free.

Journal notice created on 02/24/2009. Rev.0.1 [09/15/09]

Cooking at work...

Tomorrow, I get to make Buffalo Chicken Chili, because boss agreed to it... I should've tweaked the recipe a bit though, apparently solid chicken chunks (read: breast) are favorable over ground chicken. Also spices need working. But alas, was given notice just last Thursday that I was to have a recipe Friday, so they could get stuff for Monday (that way I can cook on tomorrow - Tuesday), so I didn't have time for a revised version. It's a 40 person meal (actually got it made according to servings, which is cool - I think the site does up to 200). Likely going to work out to an hour to two for prep, a couple to cook...

Two weeks ago, I made some random soup (well, two girls working there helped with half the work... mainly cause it was last minute (really, at the end of the day, just before leaving off to home) "OMG you have to cook tomorrow! What are you making?!? We need something out of you STAT!" - ok so that ended up alright. Originally, I was going to make pizza (to which I had actually told them two weeks prior to with serious-face), but nobody wanted it. Interestingly enough a couple days later after making this random concoction of a chicken soup - what does someone do, but order pizza for the place as lunch - the other shipper went off to get lunch and I had a sub instead (but I did nom on a piece of pizza during my last break)...

And I really don't know why I'm posting about food... besides I like making it when I'm not being fed at work :P Not much for cooking at home, since I eat like crazy at work... I don't really eat a lot at home (and not as much as I used to either) - usually going out to get stuff if/when I do (which is kind of a disappointment when you think about it, because coming from eating someone's homemade stuff, to eating ramen noodles out of a box or whatever the food might be = blah).

Not that I was that involved anyway...

I think I'm done with using the AlbertaFurries forums for a while - was using them mainly to find out the current happenings within the area, with one event updating where need be as I thought it to be good for people to know (though I have no control over, and cannot dictate anything, only a messenger). That was its (forums) main purpose to begin with (better organization of events in Alberta).

Drama, butthurt, and people who clearly aren't getting any. Makes for plenty of lolz..
On another front, I'd like to mention critical mass, along with other things like hearing stuff within the grape vine (it's actually, rather, just shoveled down the intertubes and I hear from contacts), but my intuition and cynicism's right with me now. I'm staying away from (mostly) everyone except my close friends.

And it's best to just stay away from the community, like I've been doing for the past half year, the bad vibes just don't stop. People make petty assumptions based off a seemingly harmless statement, and this, my friends, is quite amusing to read the aftermath after you've been gone for a while, and the stupid reasons why people aren't friends with so-and-so anymore. In the meantime, it keeps me on the green side of things, and makes me a much less bitter individual.

That being said, why am I still typing about this matter?
It is what it is.
/mini-rant

By keeping friends I mean to socialize, and hang out more.
I'm especially feeling the need to socialize with /someone/ more... I haven't been holding onto my end of things like I said I've been wanting to do...

I'm feeling a little bit happier with life now, at least (for some strange reason I'd been depressed and more sickly since September). I would rather my interactions with people reflect this, and as a result of Karma, or whatever the life cycle is - mutual goodness? I hope :P

That was a random thought, all for now.

Autumn Fall (Jazzadelic) - WIP ***UPDATED***

Media plays automatically, nothing I can do about it... Click here to play just after the cut. )

Figured I'd spend some time making a track (experimental)... will come back to it sometime, just wanted to get something going with it... the middle/ending is lacking something (too much going on in some parts, not enough in another, some parts are supposed to be out of sync, but other pieces of it... well, if you listen and you're not tonedeaf you can tell...) but I haven't really worked with this stuff, just learning. The more I work with it, the better it will sound (my ears are bleeding from listening to this about 5 times in a row, picking the song apart bit for bit).

Also, first song recorded on my new system o.o

Writer's Blockhead: Psychics are blockheads!

If an online psychic warned you not to leave home, would you cancel plans to attend a party? Would you refuse to date someone with a clashing astrological sign? In short, do you believe?

Ok, ok! The question, is, what is the question? Let's reword this sucka! Crossposted where needed =P

If a 'blockhead' warned you not to leave home, would you cancel plans to attend a party? Would you refuse to date someone with a clashing astrological sign? (What, you mean all those people are a bad idea?)

For me, I'll just straight up say "psychics" of any form (not psycho's, physicists, etc.), are pure BS. I have no means or interest to consult one in in any form, or any time/point in my life. Nobody's ever come up to me and said anything, either. Though if it was someone close/dear to me, and they got some sort of vision in a dream, I'd be more inclined to question them on it, than a random stranger collecting $_$ per minute (yeah, that's all they see when you're callin' em anyway)

They are/can be misleadingly "really good", but only as much as they know about you, and your past life, and how willing you are to be manipulated to believe whatever story they suggestively want you to follow. They work on possible paths, and exhaust possibilities based on research ($2-3 per minute isn't for nothing I suppose, they're making a killing on getting people hooked, and I bet the people on the other end are university degree material who took studies on the human/sociological mindset).

It's unfortunate though, as I know someone close in my own family doing the psychic thing.

Writer's Block: The truth is out there ...

If someone discusses UFOs at a party, do you assume they're a visionary or bonkers? Do you consider yourself a believer or a skeptic?

I think there's a few furs out there who'd love to be probed o.o;

Come on though, we can see millions of light years away - and the only things we can find in the deep void is light, space, and random particle matter like rocks and black holes and chemicals - and no, some people really are out there.

*facepalm*

Totally got outbid on that G5 mac.
Someone bid $1200USD on it. Needs a smack upside the head, it's not worth that much =D Though, it's possible that someone was pushing that auction too (the amount that it was raised, was too much in a short period of time -considered it stayed at $300 for 3 days straight-, so one wonders).

I lol'd. Ok so the system I'm building is still a go.. the mac was a thought anyway. In related news, I had been experimenting a little in Ubuntu Studio, and found that while the system is more stable without installing off the Studio CD itself (and installing the program packages after), it's still a little buggy. Programs like JACK don't want to run after a while for some odd reason (and yeah, have the realtime option unchecked, it still crashes). So it works, yet it doesn't at the same time... I'll have to dig a little deeper and see what's going on with that. I've had issues with Linux not running on certain HP computers before (my last system from them was about 4 years ago and had some strange crappy VIA chipset - and trust me, *no* distro would run on it), so a bug here and there doesn't come as a big surprise.

You are the wolf: "Swiftest of all on land, and also skillful in problem-solving.If you are male, you are very strong physically, yet lack a sense defining the differences between right and wrong. If you are a female, you'rew looking to have a big, happy family and you will do anything to get that; and even more to protect them. By orientation, you are the neutral party, both males and females."
